Plan and run a mobile grooming route
Order a groomer's stops for the day, optimise the route, navigate with Google Maps and update each job from the road.
Updated 2026-10-02
Mobile routes turn a groomer's doorstep bookings into an ordered list of stops. Open Mobile routes in the sidebar, or go to /app/routes. It appears when your business uses the mobile grooming module.
Who can do this: everyone can view routes. Reordering, optimising, editing locations and updating status need "Create / edit bookings" (every role except Staff by default).
Pick the day and groomer
- 1Use the arrows, Today or the date field to choose a day.
- 2Choose the person from the Groomer / van menu. The number in brackets is how many stops they have. It opens on your own route if you have stops that day.
- 3The menu also lists anyone who has mobile bookings that day, even if they aren't bookable or work in another branch.
- 4If a yellow banner says some mobile bookings have no groomer assigned, click it to see them in the calendar list and assign someone.
Order the stops
- Use the up and down arrows on each stop to change the order. Every change saves automatically.
- Click Optimise to sort stops nearest-first, starting from your branch. The result and the approximate distance are saved.
- The summary shows the number of stops and a rough straight-line distance.
Navigate
- Open in Google Maps builds a driving route through all stops that aren't finished yet, starting from the branch.
- Navigate on a stop opens directions to that address only.
- Call rings the customer.
Update each job
- Tap On the way when you set off. The booking moves to in progress.
- Tap Completed when the groom is done. The stop is ticked and faded.
Fix an address or location
- 1Open Edit location on the stop.
- 2Correct the Address, or enter Latitude and Longitude.
- 3At the customer's door, tap Use my location to capture your current GPS position. Your browser will ask for permission.
- 4Keep Also save to customer ticked so future bookings use it too, then click Save.
Good to know
- Optimise needs GPS coordinates on at least two stops. Stops without coordinates go to the end in their current order.
- For a better starting point, add latitude and longitude to your branch under Branches.
- Distances are straight-line estimates, not road distances.
- Add a stop with Add stop, which opens the booking form for mobile grooming on that day.
Tip: Capture GPS with Use my location on each first visit. Next time, Optimise and navigation will be spot on.
