Load sample data to explore

Fill an empty workspace with realistic customers, bookings, invoices and stock so you can try every screen.

Updated 2026-10-02

Want to see how the calendar, reports and dashboard look when they're busy? You can load a set of sample data into a new, empty business.

Who can do this: someone with access to your FurKisses database (the Supabase project), usually whoever set up FurKisses. There's no button for this in the app.

How to load it

  1. 1Note your booking link (your business "slug"), for example happy-tails. It's the part after /book/ in your booking page address.
  2. 2Open the Supabase dashboard for your FurKisses project and go to the SQL editor.
  3. 3Run this, replacing your-slug with your own: select public.seed_demo_data((select id from businesses where slug = 'your-slug'));
  4. 4If it worked, the result is ok. Refresh FurKisses and you'll see a "Sample data loaded" notification.

What it creates

All sample data goes into your first branch:

  • Three staff members without logins: Neha and Ravi (groomers) and Dr. Asha (vet)
  • Two grooming services if you don't have any, plus Overnight boarding if you offer boarding
  • Six kennels, a play yard and a ward
  • A supplier and eight products (shampoo, food, litter, toys, medicine) with opening stock
  • Eight customers with one pet each and Rabies and DHPPi vaccination records
  • Sixteen grooming bookings spread over the five days before and after today, in a mix of statuses and sources
  • Invoices and payments for most past bookings, plus some star ratings
  • A boarding stay in progress with care-log entries, if you offer boarding
  • Two enquiries

Good to know

  • It only runs on a business with no customers. If you already have customers, it does nothing and returns skipped: business already has customers.
  • The sample customers have made-up phone numbers and @example.com emails. Make sure WhatsApp sending isn't set up before you load them.
  • There's no one-click way to remove sample data. To try things out safely, create a separate test business (see Sign-in help for Add another business) and load the samples there.
