Book an appointment

Create a booking for a new or existing customer, pick services, see the real price for the day, request a deposit, and assign staff, rooms and nights.

Updated 2026-10-03

Every booking, from a 30-minute nail trim to a two-week stay, is made on the same form at /app/calendar/new.

Who can do this: Owner, Admin, Manager, Veterinarian, Groomer, Caretaker and Front desk (the "Create / edit bookings" permission). The Staff role can't create bookings by default.

Open the form

You can start from:

  • New booking at the top of the calendar.
  • An empty slot in the day view. The date, time and staff member are filled in for you.
  • New stay on the Boarding page, Book ahead on the Daycare page, or Add stop on Mobile routes.
  • New under "Book again" on an existing booking, which fills in the same customer.
  • Book manually on the Waitlist page, which fills in the customer, pet, services and date from their request.

Fill it in

  1. 1Customer & pet: type at least two letters of a name, phone number or pet name in the search box. Pick the customer, then tap the pet's chip. For someone new, click New customer & pet and enter their name, phone, and the pet's name, species, breed and size. To add a pet to an existing customer, click New pet.
  2. 2Services: tick one or more services. Use the tabs (All, Grooming, Boarding and so on) to narrow the list. Add-ons are listed separately. If the pet has a size and a service has size-based prices, the price updates and you'll see "Prices adjusted for size".
  3. 3When & who: set the Date and Start time. Pick a Branch if you have more than one. Choose Staff (it's called Groomer / van for mobile grooming) and the Source: Walk-in, Phone, Online, WhatsApp or App.
  4. 4For boarding and daycare you'll see Check-in date, Check-in time, Check-out date, Check-out time and Room / kennel. Boarding also has Nights, which sets the check-out date for you. Per-night services are multiplied by the number of nights.
  5. 5For mobile grooming, check the Visit address. It defaults to the customer's saved address.
  6. 6Notes: add Notes (shared with the team) and Internal notes. Neither is sent to the customer. Tick Save as pending (not yet confirmed) if it's not agreed yet.
  7. 7Price: once a date and time are set, this section shows the real price for that day. Each line shows the adjusted price, with the normal price struck through and the reason, such as "Festive peak +20%", when a pricing rule applies. Below the total you see Deposit these services ask for. If there is one, tick Request a deposit of … (already ticked when your policy is Every booking). Use Ask for a different amount to change the figure.
  8. 8Check the summary bar for the time, length and total, then click Create booking.

Good to know

  • The end time is the total duration of the services you picked. Stays use the check-out you enter.
  • The booking type comes from the first main (non add-on) service you tick.
  • If the staff member is already busy, the booking is blocked. Tick Allow double booking for this staff member to book anyway.
  • Room capacity can't be overridden. If a kennel is full, pick another room or choose "— Assign later —".
  • The booking and its services are saved together, so if anything fails nothing is half-created. Prices are always worked out by FurKisses from your service list and pricing rules, and they are fixed when the booking is saved. See peak, holiday and weekend pricing.
  • If the customer already has another pet booked for the same type of service that day, the Price section reminds you that the multi-pet discount comes off when you save. See multi-pet discounts.
  • Requesting a deposit sends the customer a pay link. Tick Save as pending (not yet confirmed) if the booking should only be confirmed once the deposit is paid. See take a deposit to confirm bookings.
  • New bookings are Confirmed unless you tick the pending box. Confirming queues the "Booking confirmed" alert for the pet parent by itself.
  • No space on the day they want? Add them to the Waitlist instead. See add someone to the waitlist.
Tip: After saving you land on the booking page, where you can see the alerts that were queued, request a deposit or send a message by hand. See Manage a booking.
