Use the clinic dashboard

See today's consultations, in-patients, upcoming follow-ups and vaccines due, all on one screen.

Updated 2026-10-02

The clinic dashboard is the vet team's home screen. Open Clinic in the sidebar, or go to /app/clinic. It appears when your business uses the vet module.

Who can do this: viewing needs "View medical records": Owner, Admin, Manager, Veterinarian and Front desk by default. Starting consults and writing notes needs "Write SOAP notes & prescriptions": Owner, Admin, Manager and Veterinarian.

Summary cards

  • Consults today: vet bookings today, with how many are still waiting (pending, confirmed or checked in).
  • In-patients: patients admitted and not yet discharged.
  • Follow-ups (7 days): follow-ups due between today and the next seven days.
  • Vaccines due (30 days): vaccines due within the next 30 days, with the number overdue underneath.

Today's consultations

Each vet booking for today is listed with its time, pet, owner, vet and booking notes, plus its status.

  • Click Start consult to open a new consultation for that pet, linked to the booking. When you save it, the booking moves to in progress. The button only appears for bookings that aren't finished.
  • If a consult already exists, the button reads Open record.
  • Click the pet's name to open their profile.

In-patients

Lists every admitted patient with the diagnosis or reason, when they were admitted, and their ward. Click a row to open the record.

Follow-ups due

Combines consult follow-ups ("Consult follow-up" or the visit reason) with prescription reviews ("Prescription review"). Each shows the owner's phone so you can call. Today's are marked Today.

Vaccines due

The card has two parts: Overdue (due in the last 90 days, most recent first, in red) and Coming up (due in the next 30 days, soonest first, in yellow). Click a row to open the pet's vaccinations tab.

Good to know

  • Only bookings whose service type is Vet appear under today's consultations. Book them from the calendar like any other appointment.
  • Use New consult at the top for a walk-in or a patient without a booking.
  • Each part shows up to 12 entries, then "+N more".
  • Pets marked as deceased, and doses already replaced by a later dose of the same vaccine, are left out.
Tip: Front desk staff can watch this page to see who's waiting, without being able to edit medical notes.
