Attendance: clocking in and out
How team members clock in and out, how managers read today's attendance board, and how to fix a missed clock-out.
Updated 2026-10-02
FurKisses records one clock-in and one clock-out per person per day.
Who can do this: every team member with a login can clock in for themselves. Editing anyone's times needs Manage staff, shifts & time-off (by default Owner, Admin and Manager).
Clock in and out
Where you clock in depends on your role:
- Groomer, Caretaker and Staff (roles without the business dashboard): on the Dashboard, the My day card shows today's shift and a Clock in button.
- Everyone with access to Staff pages: go to Staff, then Attendance (
/app/staff/attendance), and use the Clock in button in the greeting card.
Click Clock in when you start and Clock out when you finish. After that you'll see "Shift complete for today". If you try again the same day, you'll be asked to have a manager adjust it.
Every default role, including Veterinarian and Front desk, can open Staff → Attendance to clock in and Staff → Time off to request leave.
The attendance board
The Attendance page shows one day at a time. It shows today by default; pick another date and click Go to look back. Future dates aren't available.
- The summary tiles show Present, Working now, Rostered, not in and On leave.
- The Team board lists each person's shift, In, Out, Hours and a status: Working, Done, Not in yet (they have a shift but haven't clocked in), On leave (approved time off) or Off.
- A yellow late badge appears if someone clocked in more than 10 minutes after their shift started.
On the Team page, a green dot on someone's photo means they're clocked in right now.
Fix a mistake
- 1Click the pencil next to the person, either on the board or on their profile's Attendance tab.
- 2Change Clock in and/or Clock out, and add a Note such as "Forgot to clock out". For an overnight shift, tick Clocked out the next day — for example in at 22:00, out at 06:00.
- 3Click Save.
Good to know
- In the edit form, a clock-out earlier than the clock-in is only accepted when Clocked out the next day is ticked; otherwise you'll be asked to tick it.
- A person's Attendance tab shows the last 30 days, with days present and total hours worked.
- Shifts come from the roster. See Plan shifts and time off.
