Transfer stock between branches

Move products from one branch to another in a single step, with a full record on both sides.

Updated 2026-10-02

If you run more than one branch, you can move stock between them from Inventory → Transfers (/app/inventory/transfers).

Make a transfer

  1. 1Go to Inventory → Transfers and click New transfer.
  2. 2Choose the From branch and the To branch. They have to be different.
  3. 3Under Products, pick a product and enter the quantity. Click Add product for more lines. If you add the same product twice, the lines are combined.
  4. 4Add a Note if you like, e.g. "Weekend restock for the salon".
  5. 5Click Transfer stock.

The stock moves immediately. The sending branch gets a Transfer out movement and the receiving branch gets a Transfer in movement. Both appear in each product's Movement history.

Check past transfers

The Transfers tab lists each transfer with its Date, Route (from → to), Products with quantities, and Note. If you've picked a single branch in the branch picker, you'll see transfers into or out of that branch only.

Who can do this

Viewing transfers: Owner, Admin, Manager, Veterinarian and Front desk. Making transfers: anyone with the "Manage stock, suppliers & POs" permission (Owner, Admin and Manager by default).

Good to know

  • You need at least two branches. With one branch, the tab shows "Transfers need two branches".
  • You can't send more than the sending branch has. You'll see a message like "Not enough Oatmeal shampoo at Indiranagar: 3 pcs available, 5 requested".
  • There's no "in transit" step. Stock leaves one branch and arrives at the other at the same moment, so make the transfer when the goods actually move.
  • A transfer can't be edited or undone. To reverse one, make a new transfer in the opposite direction.
  • Batch and expiry details don't move with a transfer. The sending branch's batches are used up (earliest expiry first), but the receiving branch doesn't get a batch record.
  • Only active products can be transferred.
