Create, sell and redeem packages

Bundle service credits like “5 baths for 90 days”, sell them on an invoice, redeem credits as customers use them, and let memberships raise their own renewal invoice.

Updated 2026-10-03

Packages are prepaid bundles of service credits. Find them under Packages in the sidebar (/app/packages). The page has two tabs: Catalogue and Sold packages.

Create a package

  1. 1On the Catalogue tab, click New package.
  2. 2Fill in Name, an optional Description, the Price and Valid for (days). The default is 90 days.
  3. 3Under Included services, pick a service and the number of credits. Click + Add service for more services.
  4. 4Optionally set a GST rate (%) (named after your tax label). Leave it blank to use the business default.
  5. 5Optionally tick Membership (can auto-renew) and choose how often it Renews every (Monthly, Quarterly or Yearly).
  6. 6Leave Available for sale ticked, then click Create package.

Each package card has Hide (or Put on sale), Edit and a delete button. A package that has already been sold can't be deleted. Hide it instead.

Sell a package

  1. 1Click Sell a package, or go to Invoices → New invoice. You can also sell from the Packages tab on the point-of-sale screen.
  2. 2Attach the customer. A package always needs a customer.
  3. 3On the Packages tab under Add items, click the package.
  4. 4Create the invoice and take payment as usual.

Renew a package or membership

On Sold packages, the Expires on column shows when each package runs out. Click Renew to open a new invoice for the same customer with that package already added, then take payment as usual. Renewing sells a fresh package with full credits; the old one keeps its own expiry date.

Saving the invoice adds the package to Sold packages with full credits. The expiry date is today plus the package's validity days. If you sell from a booking, the package is linked to that booking's pet.

Memberships that renew themselves

A sold membership has an Auto-renew switch under the package name on Sold packages. It saves as soon as you tap it, and it's set per customer.

With Auto-renew on:

  1. 13 days before the membership expires, FurKisses raises a renewal invoice for the package's current price.
  2. 2The customer gets a "Membership renewal" message with the amount and a pay link. The row shows Renewal invoice sent with a link to the invoice.
  3. 3When that invoice is fully paid, online or at the counter, the membership gets a fresh set of credits and its expiry date moves forward by the package's validity.
Auto-renew never charges a saved card. Nothing is taken until the customer pays the renewal invoice themselves.

If the invoice isn't paid, the membership expires on its date as usual. The details, including what happens with late payments, are in memberships that renew themselves.

Redeem a credit

  1. 1Go to Sold packages and find the customer. Use the search box and the Active / Expired / Cancelled / All filter.
  2. 2Click Redeem.
  3. 3Pick the Service, set Credits to use and add an optional Note, e.g. "Bath for Bruno, 14 Oct".
  4. 4Click Redeem. The Credits left column updates, and used-up services are crossed out.

Redeeming is checked and saved in one step, so two people redeeming the same package at once can't use more credits than it has. Everyone in the business gets a notification saying who redeemed what.

Cancel a sold package

Click Cancel, then Cancel package. Remaining credits can no longer be used. Refunds aren't made automatically. Voiding the package's invoice also cancels it.

Who can do this

Creating, editing, hiding and deleting packages: anyone with the "Business settings" permission (Owner, Admin and Manager by default). Cancelling sold packages: Owner, Admin and Manager. Selling, renewing, redeeming and switching Auto-renew on or off: Owner, Admin, Manager, Veterinarian and Front desk.

Good to know

  • Credits aren't used up automatically when you book or invoice a service. Redeem them by hand on Sold packages.
  • Membership (can auto-renew) shows a "monthly membership · can auto-renew" badge, for example. With Auto-renew off, nothing is raised by itself: use Renew each period. With it on, the renewal invoice and pay link go out for you, but no card is ever charged.
  • The renewal pay link takes money online only when Razorpay or Stripe is connected. See accept online payments. Without a gateway the invoice is still raised and the customer pays at the counter.
  • A Package expiring soon alert (off by default) can warn customers before a prepaid package runs out. Switch it on in Settings → Alerts for pet parents.
  • Packages are taxed at their own rate if set, otherwise your business default. See how tax is calculated.
  • An invoice that includes a package can't be edited after saving. Void it and create a new one instead.
  • Expired packages can't be redeemed. Packages show "N days left" when two weeks or less remain.
