Daily report cards: build, edit and send

Turn the day's care logs into a friendly report card with a mood, a short summary and photos, then send it to the pet parent.

Updated 2026-10-03

A report card is a short end-of-day summary for the pet parent: how their pet felt, what they did, and the photos from the day. FurKisses writes the first draft from your care logs, so most days it takes a few seconds.

Who can do this: anyone with the "Create / edit bookings" permission (Owner, Admin, Manager, Veterinarian, Groomer, Caretaker and Front desk by default). Everyone who can view the calendar can see whether a card was sent.

Build today's report card

  1. 1Open the stay sheet (tap the pet's name on Boarding, or Visit sheet on a daycare card).
  2. 2Scroll to Report cards. There is one row for each day of the stay so far.
  3. 3Tap Build today's report card.

You can also tap Build today's report card on a pet's card on the boarding board, or Today's report card on a daycare card.

Edit it

  1. 1Pick a Mood: Happy, Playful, Calm, Shy, Anxious, Tired or Unwell.
  2. 2Read the Summary. It starts as a sentence built from the day's logs, such as "Bruno had 2 meals, 1 walk, 1 play session." Add a personal line or two.
  3. 3The day in numbers shows how many of each care log were recorded. These come from the logs and can't be typed over.
  4. 4Check the preview under How the pet parent will see it.

Save or send

  • Save draft keeps it for later. The row shows Draft, and you can open it again with Edit draft.
  • Send to parent marks it sent and sends the Daily report card alert on WhatsApp with a link to the card and the photos. The row then shows Sent at with the time.

A sent report card can't be changed. Open it with View to see what the parent received.

Automatic report cards

Report cards are also built and sent automatically at your report card hour (6 pm unless you change it) for pets in the house when the Daily report card alert is on. Change this in Alert settings.

  • If you already sent the day's card by hand, nothing more is sent.
  • If you saved a draft with your own wording, your wording is what gets sent.
  • If nobody touched the card, the automatic sentence from the care logs is sent.

Good to know

  • Until you edit the summary, it refreshes from the care logs each time you open the draft. Once you change the wording, it is yours and is never overwritten.
  • Be honest about the mood. If a pet was anxious or unwell, say so kindly and say what you did about it. Parents trust report cards that aren't always perfect.
  • If WhatsApp isn't connected, the message waits in the Outbox for one-tap sending. See The Outbox.
  • No alert goes out if the alert is switched off, the parent has no phone number, or they opted out of WhatsApp. The card still appears on their link.
Tip: log care as it happens. The better the logs, the better the first draft, and the less you type at the end of a long day.
